The company is developing 8-10 new salmon marinated products capitalizing on consumer flavor profiles and trends — allowing for the customization of local spices and flavors to create new regional offerings.


Yihe is in lab review, finalizing several marinated and dry-rub spiced salmon products including, honey lemon glaze, honey glaze, lime & ghipotle glaze, garlic herb, garlic ghipotle, Asian teriyaki, sweet chili, BBQ and Chicago steak rub.

‘New’ Yihe Back on Solid Footing

Yihe Corp., armed with new financial and supply chain partners, is primed for the wild salmon bidding season this summer and has put its financial woes in the past, according to Steven Chen, CEO of the Pasadena, Calif.-based company.
“We’re much stronger than before,” Chen told SeafoodSource this week during a conference call that included the company’s new business partners.

Yihe Plans US Processing Expansion

Yihe Corporation is starting processing salmon burgers again in a plant in Los Angeles, as it makes a return to the Boston seafood show that seemed unlikely last year.


The Pasadena, California-based company is back in business with new financial backing in China and a partnership with Resource One Holdings, the very same broker that put it into receivership, sparking a fascinating legal battle that was one of the stories of last year.


Steve Chen, who founded Yihe in 2004, told Undercurrent News the company is back processing salmon burgers in the US again, because of demand from some customers.

Founder and CEO Steve Chen told IntraFish it was a long six months since Yihe went into receivership at the hands of its distributor St. Louis-based Resource One.


The company wasn’t able to renew its contract to sell its salmon burgers to retail giant Walmart for 2014, although its still fulfilling 2013 commitments, its Seattle office was closed, employees let go, plans for a new plant in the United States scrapped and financial support was hard to come by.

Yihe Back At Boston Partnered with Broker That Put It Into Receivership

US importer Yihe Corporation is back in business with a new financial partner, Junbin Yang, chairman of Fuhuang Group, and an unlikely partner – Resource One – whose $488,000 claim landed Yihe in receivership last year.


Yihe has “selected Resource One as an on-going partner to manage its retail sales and supply chain management”, said the company, in a press release.


Yihe is exhibiting at the Seafood Expo North America in Boston, starting on Sunday.
